You should see the one where they make 5 stained glass windows in 10:59...
(Note: The above video does not exist. The statement was made purely for comedic value...which is probably not worth much)

I thought my fellow wg's would enjoy that vid. Everytime I see I'm amazed-more actually.

There's alot of really cool watch related vids on youtube. Reviews on certain pieces. Demonstrations of functions-like on the Tissot T-Touch. Timepiece making...Hey Mehdi, you should do a youtube vid. I'll even help where needed.

My name is Mehdi and my passion is timepieces.
From the moment I felt the heartbeat of these wondrous machines....We'll call it a work in progress Mehdi.

That dial is not really to my taste, but I can definitely appreciate all the artistry and craftmanship that goes into it. It is truly impressive.

Now that is hand made. Imagine the level of craftsmanship it takes by a multitude of people to produce one of those timepieces.

You wouldn't catch me using razor sharp blades and being that close to my fingers. DNA is all over those timepieces!

Thanks for sharing. What an amazing video.

Sincerely,

Nathan

That's truly amazing.

Can you image the time, precision and patience it takes to assemble a hand-made movement? And, what about decorating that movement?

It gives me an idea of why some watches are so expensive. Take a look at some of the Breguet or A. Lange & Sohn or GO watches. They are amazingly designed and detailed.

I was a bit surprised that they don't laser cut those and then hand fit and polish. Maybe even a laser cannot achieve that level of precision and fit n finish? But I am thinking that it would tend to be more along the lines that each piece is truly hand made thus no two are alike.

I don't mean this to be offensive in any manner, but while the level of craftsmanship is probably unmatched, I did notice that is was not "Swiss" craftsmen in white lad coats but yet 'probably' poorly paid (compared to a comparable worker in another industrialized country) person making these incredible works of art with only an image as a guide and basic hand tools and power tools.

It can be a bit sad to see some of the most labor intensive but yet most incredible things being made by people who work for a fraction of what other people get paid that flip burgers and the hardest thing they have to figure out is what side of the bun goes up. (And yes I am making an unfair assumption since I have no idea how well they are paid for what they create.) But based on the location and how they appear I would say they don't make much for the incredible pieces they create and what that watch sells for at retail.
