Jim just hired me as his " Oficial Replica Incinerator " please PM me. I will give you specific instructions on where to send it to, no need to check with Jim first, as he doesn't want to be bothered.

Thanks for the heads up Jim.....actually don't have any replica's that I would want to post a picture of. Our Invicta's, Renato's, Croton's, Stuhrlings and Phillip Steins are so much better looking!

Well said, Jim. I don't believe in fakes of anything, be they watches, clothing, handbags, you name it. Owning a fake (or "replica") only encourages crime.

Case closed. Buy the real thing, and wear it proudly.

I have seen some pretty well built replicas out there. If you go to China they actually have different variations of replica Rolex and Omega's. They have the low-line usually $15-$25 US Dollars, the mid-level $50-$100, and the very well built automatic replicas that run from about $150-$500. I don't own any and I would not post pics of them if I did, but be careful folks there really are some good fakes being sold out there. I've owned 2 authentic Rolex watches and it was very hard to find the differences in them. The biggest difference is the weight of the watch. Fakes are very light. Hollow links etc.. Rolex has done a good job modifying their watches to make them hard to replicate.

Only if it is a replica of solid gold watch. Otherwise, the weight is pretty much the same. Agreed in the fact the the level of the top end replicas is outstoundingly good, so you got to be really careful about any purchases not from an AD.

Good reminder about not posting pics or discussing or debating the topic.

I have one replica/fake that was given to me as a gag gift from one of my troops who spent some time in the sandbox overseas. It looks great, feels great and is a great conversation piece. Just don't ask me what time it is when I'm wearing it. The third time I wore it the crystal fell off and it's been downhill ever since. Like I said, it looks nice, VERY SHINY.

Oki doki. Perfectly reasonable and expected on a reputable site. Thanks Jim!

I agree with paneraijoe. I have a bro-in-law always in Hong Kong. They even have asian 7750's that are very difficult to tell the difference when you crack the back. I stick to original stuff but do have some watches brought back by said bro-in-law but the watchgeeks have never heard or seen of them on principle. Still cracks me up that some replicas consistantly go between 200 and over 1000 bucks......for that money there are plenty of better quality invictas!!!!! IMHO.

I have looked at hundreds of photos here on this forum, and if I saw a replica watch, far be it from me to know it. No, I am not exactly replica watch brain dead, yet (I think), but I just have never spent the time to learn the distinctions between the fakes and the real things, I just am not interested in replicas.

I agree that it is a good policy not to discuss them here and not to post pics of them here, so for my own protections, knowing that there are numerous replicas out there, and as I have read, some of them are pretty accurate looking, I have limited the few very high end watch purchases that I have made to only authorized dealers. However, I would like to know a replica if I ever saw one, whether in a photo or the real thing.
